On December 10, 2025, the Dianjiang Group was invited by the Bamboo Research Institute of Jiangxi Academy of Forestry to visit Jinggangshan — the sacred red revolutionary base and green ecological treasure — to conduct a comprehensive inspection and maintenance of the bamboo forest ecological observation system installed there. This system is used to monitor key parameters such as soil evaporation and infiltration in bamboo forests, throughfall under the canopy, canopy interception rainfall, and bamboo sap flow.
Clearing Blockages in Understory Equipment
Forest floor equipment is frequently blocked by fallen leaves, branches, and other debris, which can affect measurement accuracy. Regular cleaning is essential to ensure data validity. During this visit, the team performed detailed cleaning of the collection openings for throughfall and canopy interception rainfall.
Repairing Physical Damage
Understory equipment is occasionally damaged by falling branches or human interference. The team inspected and repaired cables and protective devices, with particular attention given to restoring the wrapping material of the sap flow sensors.
Power Supply System Maintenance
A stable power supply is critical for the normal operation of the entire system. The team thoroughly checked the batteries and solar panels. The solar panels, exposed to wind and rain for extended periods, had accumulated surface dirt that was carefully cleaned to restore optimal photoelectric conversion efficiency. Batteries showing signs of power loss were repaired or replaced to ensure reliable long-term operation.
Sensor Data Analysis and CalibrationIn
In addition, the team conducted a comprehensive analysis of data from all on-site sensors to determine whether any sensors were damaged or showing data drift. Necessary replacements and calibrations were performed promptly.
Regular and standardized maintenance work is essential for ensuring the normal operation of monitoring equipment, extending its service life, and maintaining the continuity and reliability of long-term ecological data. For research institutions that lack the time or specialized personnel to carry out such work, entrusting it to a professional team is a highly effective solution.
Since its establishment in 2001, Dianjiang Group has successfully repaired and maintained thousands of ecological and environmental monitoring instruments for universities, research institutes, and enterprises across China. We maintain technical service centers in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Hefei, Kunming, Xi’an, Chengdu, and other cities.
