The ECOPROBE 5 is an advanced portable soil contamination analyzer designed for rapid and accurate environmental monitoring. It uniquely combines Photoionization Detection (PID) with Infrared Spectroscopy (IR), enabling comprehensive analysis of soil gases in a single compact instrument.
By integrating multiple technologies into one device, the ECOPROBE 5 replaces several standalone analyzers while measuring all key parameters simultaneously. It provides in-situ detection of organic contaminants with selective analysis of methane, petroleum hydrocarbons, CO₂, O₂, NO₂, and H₂S.
Exceptional Analysis in Challenging Environments
The ECOPROBE 5 is a soil gas analyzer widely used in environmental monitoring, site investigations, remediation projects, and leak detection. It enables users to identify contamination hotspots, track pollutant migration, and assess the effectiveness of remediation efforts.
Designed specifically for field use, the device is portable, rugged, and easy to operate. It significantly reduces the need for laboratory analysis and supports more efficient and cost-effective sampling strategies.
The ECOPROBE 5 plays a critical role in protecting environmental quality and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Ideal for environmental consultants, remediation contractors, landfill monitoring, and industrial site inspections.
Why is the ECOPROBE 5 Unique?
Sub-ppm sensitivity – Enables detection of very low concentrations of contaminants
Selective methane measurement – Dedicated methane channel allows compensation for naturally occurring biological methane in soil
Multi-parameter analysis – Simultaneous detection of multiple gases and hydrocarbons
Real-time field results – Immediate insights without laboratory delays
How to Operate the ECOPROBE 5
A narrow borehole (approximately 1 meter deep) is drilled prior to measurement to allow proper insertion of a standardized, impermeable soil probe while minimizing soil disturbance.
Once the probe is inserted:
The ECOPROBE 5 is connected via silicone tubing
The device draws soil air into the analyzer
Gas concentrations are measured and automatically stored
The ECOPROBE 5 can store up to 100,000 measurements. With an attached GPS module, data can be exported to a PC in various formats for further analysis and visualization.
Application
Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) – Rapid screening and identification of contaminants during Phase I & II investigations
