中國科學院和中國工程院正式公布2025年院士增選有效候選人名單。中國科學院有效候選人639人，中國工程院有效候選人660人。值得關注的是，香港科學家此次共有16人入圍（中國科學院14人，工程院2人），人數和學科範圍均超越往年。
The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) have announced the list of valid candidates for the 2025 academician election. There are 639 valid candidates for CAS and 660 for CAE. Notably, 16 Hong Kong scientists have been shortlisted (14 for CAS, 2 for CAE), setting a new record in both number and disciplinary scope.
今年新入圍的科學家包括45歲的香港大學數學系講座教授何旭華，以及世界著名的臨床眼科醫生、香港中文大學（深圳）國際眼科研究所林順潮。
Newly shortlisted scientists include 45-year-old Chair Professor He Xuhua from the University of Hong Kong's Department of Mathematics, and world-renowned clinical ophthalmologist Lam Shun Chiu from the International Eye Research Institute at CUHK (Shenzhen).

何旭華是本次最年輕的香港候選人，畢業於北京大學數學系，2023年獲選首屆新基石研究員。林順潮除學術成就外，亦擔任全國人大代表及香港立法會議員，長期參與內地扶貧除盲工作。
He Xuhua, the youngest Hong Kong candidate, graduated from Peking University's Mathematics Department and was selected as a inaugural New Cornerstone Investigator in 2023. Lam Shun Chiu, in addition to his academic achievements, serves as a NPC deputy and LegCo member, with long-term involvement in poverty alleviation and blindness eradication efforts in mainland China.
選舉紀律
Election Discipline
兩院強調院士增選工作紀律，中國科學院要求有效候選人遵守「靜默期」規定，不得參加各類同行評審活動或進行不當宣傳。中國工程院表示將嚴格把關候選人學風道德。
Both academies have emphasized election discipline. CAS requires valid candidates to adhere to a "silent period", prohibiting participation in various peer review activities or inappropriate publicity. CAE stated it will strictly vet candidates' academic integrity and moral conduct.
院士增選每兩年舉行一次，本次於4月25日啟動，最終將各增選不超過100名院士。
The academician election is held biennially. The 2025 process started on April 25th, with no more than 100 new academicians to be selected for each academy.
